ABH Brow Powder Duo Review

After Brow Powder

Now we all know one of the hottest trends in beauty right now is eyebrows, so it only makes sense that we review one of the most well-known eyebrow products. Anastasia Beverly Hills has multiple eyebrow shaping and filling products out there.

After a trip to our local Sephora I spoke to an employee about finding the perfect match for my colour. They are very helpful, so don’t be shy if you ever need any colour matching done or any advice! I settled on the Brow Powder Duo, I used auburn to be slightly darker than my hair colour.

I have to say that I love this product! One of the reasons I chose it was because I needed something that would be reasonably easy to apply and that wouldn’t take me forever to put on. I’ve been using the product almost daily for several months now and I have yet to run out. A major bonus for me as I haven’t had to replace it yet! I also like that since it is in powder form there is no need to worry about it drying out, and it will last much longer because of that.

It has two different colours in it and I do use both of them though I tend to use much more of the darker shade than the lighter one. The two colours are used to help create natural looking highlight and lowlights within your brows. The two colours make it even easier to find the right balance in matching your eyebrows closely to your hair colour.

First Wellness Review

Unlike a lot of people I’m sure I do not partake in Boxing Day shopping. In my family Boxing Day is pyjama day. There is no way we’re leaving the house. Don’t get me wrong, I love shopping (just ask Brittany) and I do enjoy the sales, but it’s either online shopping or I’ll go a few days later (this year it just might be both). Anyways, my family always hosts for Christmas dinner, so it’s anything but relaxing. And so when I woke up with a stuffed up nose and a sore throat on my day of relaxation you can say I wasn’t very pleased to say the least.
The last time I had a cold I had a bath everyday and it seemed to help. I’m also a really big fan of Lush bath bombs, so when I came out of the bath I always smelt awesome, which is an added bonus when you’re feeling under the weather.
Luckily my sister bought me a bath bomb as part of my Christmas gift, so I knew a bath with my amazing smelling bath bomb would perk me right up and it did.

It was the Dragon’s Egg bomb, and it was perfect as it’s nothing too crazy. I can honestly say if dragon’s eggs did exist this is what I would imagine it would look like.
Once the bath bomb is done fizzing it leaves the water a nice milky white colour that just looks so inviting. When the white eventually clears you’re left with an orange tint to your bathwater and a slight shimmer (it doesn’t stick to your skin for those who are wondering). You’ll come out of your bath smelling like an orange. I also found the bath bomb to be very moisturizing, as normally when I get out of the shower I have to put cream on (especially in the winter), but with this my skin still feels very nourished and it’s not itchy at all.
Overall, it’s the perfect bomb to drop in your bath if you feel like you need to relax a little and your skin will come out feeling silky smooth.

I hope this is helpful to some! Feel free to leave us a comment with your thoughts on this bath bomb.

First Book Review

Written by the bestselling author of Me Before You, Jojo Moyes leads her readers through two storylines in her book The Girl You Left Behind.
It’s 1916 and the Germans have taken over France. All of the men have gone to fight at the Front leaving their wives at home with the children. Sophie Lefèvre, wife of the famous artist Édouard Lefèvre, is struggling to keep her children alive as their food has been rationed and it’s been a hard winter. That is until the Germans invade their small town. They eat dinner at the Lefèvre’s hotel every night and Sophie is forced to serve them. Then Kommandant sees a portrait in the hotel that Édouard painted of Sophie and becomes obsessed. A century later, Liv Halston wakes up every morning to the portrait titled The Girl You Left Behind in her house in London. A wedding gift from her late husband she cherishes it dearly. When the painting’s location is discovered a legal battle begins and Liv is faced with something she loves so much possibly being taken away from her all over again.
The Girl You Left Behind is about two girls a century apart who were left behind by the loves of their lives for two very different reasons with two very different outcomes.

I was pulled into this story right away. I sometimes find that historical fiction takes a while to build, but that was not the case with this book. The book starts with Sophie’s point of view and it’s such a different world from today that I was instantly sucked in. Then it changes to Liv’s point of view right at a cliff-hanger in Sophie’s storyline. I had to know what happened to Sophie, so I sped through this book ridiculously fast. Don’t get me wrong though, Liv’s legal battle to keep the painting was very intense too. I give the book 5 stars, which is not something I do very regularly, but this book was just that good. It is the perfect combination of historical fiction, contemporary fiction with a little hint of romance. I would definitely recommend reading it if you’re a fan of Jojo Moyes or historical fiction. And I do have to mention that I enjoyed it a lot more than Me Before You.

If you’ve read this book I’d love to know what you thought of it. Feel free to leave a comment!

Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask Review

image3

We can’t get enough of Bite Beauty’s Agave Lip Mask!
This is a must have for anyone who suffers from chapped or dry lips, or just wants some shiny natural looking lips. It comes on thick and is long lasting, but that’s the point. The longer it stays on the better it is for your lips because it keeps them hydrated. We love that this is not sticky and it has a bit of a sweet taste to it.
As you can see from the picture of the tube, the downside to this products would have to be its packaging. It gets hard to squeeze it out and you have to use your finger to put it on, but it is definitely worth it! We have Nicole wearing it to show how nice and natural it looks once it is applied.

We are happy to report that the balm will be coming out in a stick format. It will be hitting shelves December 26th, so be sure to stay on the lookout!
