6 week regression

This has been a great week so far. Miss Nora Grace is still cranky but I decided to google it and the WHY makes it so much easier. Apparently a 6 week regression/ growth spurt is a thing! Skipping naps during the day, eating every hour, etc. The reason why is so damn cute though and it makes me realize that sometimes we forget that these tiny humans are indeed humans.

At 6 weeks babies start to see and hear the world around them more and it gets very overwhelming as they are so curious. This melted my heart and I felt so bad for getting so frustrated with her. The world is a scary place and I need her to know that I am there to support her. As a result I have let her be in control the past couple of days. We spent hours at a time in the rocking chair with her mouth on my breast. Not necessarily eating the whole time, but for comfort. We have played new games, and danced around the house. And guess what?! Miss Nora Grace has starting smiling! Genuine, happy, I-just-want-to-eat-her-up smiles!

Paying more attention and spending so much time with her has definitely payed off. This regression is supposed to last up to a week, but I love how everyday is a new adventure. Her moods switch from one second to a next, and I can’t wait to see what the next week holds.

We finally made it to a doctor today for her monthly check up, (yes, two weeks late,) and she is as healthy as a horse. She weighs about 9 and 1/2 pounds which puts her in the 25th percentile, but they said it won’t be a concern until about 6 months old. It was amazing to see what light she brought to everyone’s eyes as they made contact with her. I may be biased, but it must be because she is so damn beautiful❤️

  1. AH! I want to pinch those cute chubby cheeks! My boy still has those and I love doing the kiss suck on them. You kiss them until your mouth makes a popping sound! I love babies. They are so innocent and sweet.
